The maXTouch® ATMXT1296M1 family are automotive touchscreen controllers, supporting up to 72 reconfigurable touch channels without firmware modification.

The ATMXT1296M1 family offers the Smart Mutual acquisition scheme in addition to the patented differential mutual and self-capacitance mode, boosting the touch Signal-to-Noise-Ratio (SNR) by up to +15dB without increasing the Tx drive voltage.

With the Smart Mutual technology, multi-finger gloved touches are reliably and accurately detected on challenging touch display structures, including thick overlay or thin on-cell OLED.

The ATMXT1296M1E variant supports the Knob-on-Display (KoD™) technology, simultaneous serial communication interfaces, ultra low latency haptic control and is ready for the certification of the touch function according to the Automotive Safety Integrity Level B (ASIL-B) as specified in ISO 26262.

Microchip’s automotive ATMXT1296M1 family includes advanced techniques to lower RF emissions and comply with the CISPR-25 Level 5.
