SparkFun Triple Axis Accelerometer Breakout - LIS3DH (with Headers)

Opencircuit

The SparkFun Triple Axis Accelerometer Breakout - LIS3DH (with Headers) is a versatile, three-axis accelerometer with 12 bits of resolution. This low-power, capacitive, micro-machined device allows for translation detection in your project. It is a 3DoF (3 Degrees of Freedom) unit, capable of providing additional space location data, such as gyroscopic or magnetometric. The LIS3DH offers a few analog inputs and has built-in movement detection abilities.Setting up the LIS3DH from STMicroelectronics is straightforward. Simply wire up your chosen interface (SPI or I2C), provide 3.3V, and ground. This sensor is compatible with a breadboard for easy connection. The weight of the sensor makes it similar to what you might expect from a project or cellphone.Remember, the LIS3DH Breakout is a 3.3V device, and supplying voltages greater than ~3.6V can permanently damage the IC. If your Arduino has a 3.3V supply output and you're using I2C, there's no need for additional level shifting. However, if you're using SPI, a level shifter may be necessary. The LIS3DH Breakout offers a range of features:

* Voltage range: 1.7V--3.6V * Three Modes: Power-Down, Normal, Low-Power * Fullscale selection: ±2g/±4g/±8g/±16g * 10bit, 32-Level FIFO * 6D/4D Orientation * Free-fall Detection * Motion Detection * Embedded Temperature Sensor For further information, please refer to the following documents:
