SparkFun Qwiic Speaker Kit

The SparkFun Qwiic Speaker Kit is a comprehensive package that combines stereo audio with a user-friendly Qwiic interface. This kit includes two slim speakers, all necessary connecting cables, a wall adapter, a SparkFun Qwiic Speaker Amp, and a RedBoard Artemis Nano. The Qwiic-enabled feature of the kit eliminates the need for soldering, making it an ideal choice for beginners and experts alike.The Qwiic Speaker Amp in this kit is powered by the Texas Instruments TPA2016D2 stereo, a filter-free class-D audio power amplifier. This amplifier stands out from the rest due to its unique features such as volume control, Dynamic Range Compression (DRC), Automatic Gain Control (AGC), and the ability to enable/disable the amplifier. It can be configured through software via I2C. Moreover, its class-D operation ensures low heat and extended battery life, making it capable of driving 4Ω speakers up to 2.8W in stereo and 8Ω speakers up to 1.7W in stereo.The RedBoard Artemis Nano, included in the kit, serves as your Arduino microcontroller. This minimal yet highly functional module is housed on a lightweight, 0.8mm thick PCB with an onboard LiPo-battery charging facility and a Qwiic connector. Its dual row of ground connections facilitates the addition of multiple buttons, LEDs, and other components requiring their own GND connection. The board is also breadboard compatible if you solder the inner rows of pins.Part of the SparkFun Qwiic Connect System, this kit is part of an ecosystem of I2C sensors, actuators, shields, and cables designed to make prototyping faster and less error-prone. All Qwiic-enabled boards use a common 1mm pitch, 4-pin JST connector, reducing the amount of required PCB space.
